PostgreSQL and Gnome Vulnerability fixed in Ubuntu OS


The latest vulnerability reported by Canonical about PostgreSql.The problem was reported on 12th February on its blog.The  blog stated that if special crafted inputs are sent to PostgreSQL,then it can crash PostgreSQL and may cause of denial of service.

The vulnerability is affecting OS 8.04 to OS 12.04.So has asked users to update the PostgreSQL or update the Ubuntu OS .

The vulnerability was also found in the Gnome screen saver.Canonical has discovered that gnome-screensaver did not start automatically after logging in. This may result in the screen not being automatically locked after the inactivity timeout is reached, permitting an attacker with physical access to gain access to an unlocked session.The update has been released to fix this vulnerability.
