The claims of Ubuntu are false, and are making ethically weak ,who says this .Well my words wont put much weight, but what if the same are claimed by Seigo, the project leader of KDE. Seigo posted some strong comments about the Ubuntu interface on his Google+ blog. “Long before Canonical decided this was something that made any sort of sense, before they started using Qt and QML, we were there working towards this. Today, we deliver this kind of functionality and are working to jump even further down this road.
“However, having looked at the code behind Unity… Canonical’s claim is a hollow one.” He also questioned the claims made by Ubuntu and called it an ethically weak and fooling developers by telling them a fairy tale. “If you’re a Free software developer, user and/or supporter and buying into these claims, I don’t know how else to put it other than this: you’re being duped.”
Though he is against the Canonical claims but has appreciated the Ubuntu Phone and gave positive remarks. “I want to make it crystal clear that I think Ubuntu Phone a great thing to see; more Free software mobile efforts, particularly ones using Qt/QML, warm my insides like a good bowl of soup on a cold winter’s night.”remarked Seigo.
The Linux community was always divided for all the reasons from platform acceptance to environment adoption, what this hard thoughts of Seigo would do in Linux community would be great to watch.
