4MLinux released for beta testing

New OS 4MLinux was just released for beta testing.The 4M linux puts all the features of 4 Linux variants into oneMaintenance (system rescue Live CD), Multimedia (e.g., playing video DVDs), Miniserver (using the inetd daemon), and Mystery (Linux games), is now at version 6.0 Beta.A 64 MB OS is a good option to try hands on 4MLinux .

This is an smart approach for a OS ,rather than going the Ubuntu way of building 4 different OSes. It also supports video cards from Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD.

Interesting features of 4Mlinux

  • include the newest stable Wine (i.e. 1.4.1),
  • stable Firefox (i.e. 19.0.2).
  • WinSCP 5.1.4, XChat 2.8.9, and 7-Zip 9.20

Updated Linux Kernel released

Linux Kernel has been officially released by Ben Hutchings.Taking the version number to 3.2.42-stable review,the update patches 104 vulnerabilities.

“This is the start of the stable review cycle for the 3.2.42 release. There are 104 patches in this series, which will be posted as responses to this one,” was posted by Ben Hutchings.
