Opera 12.15 released

Opera moved away from Presto and is using the webkit for future opera development. But the new updates still show their love for Presto and so they have released a new updated version on the old engine. Released for Windows,Mac and Linux platform ,Opera 12.15 removes some of the issues affecting the browser.

  • Fixed an issue where the search bar’s default engine could be overridden by third-party apps
  • If a domain makes an unrealistically high number of requests in less than 24 hours, it will be treated as an attack, and Opera will block that domain for the remainder of the 24 hours.
  •  Opera does not apply the site specific cookie restriction correctly, allowing a website to set a cookie for its entire top-level domain (such as .com or .co.uk) allowing the malicious site to redirect the user to another website in the same top-level domain.
  • Thus, causing it to mistake that cookie for one of its own, and reusing it for authentication without modification and leading to the user’s accounts being compromised on that site.

The new version of the new Opera can be downloaded  from the Opera website
