After the hacking of twitter account of AP by Syrian Electronic Army, some new websites have sprung up asking customers to check if your twitter is password secure. These websites are specifically targeting Twitter users. There are 2 types of websites reported to be carrying the password checker tactic.
They just ask you type your email address and cross check it with the database they posses which contains the username and the supposed password of that user.If the match is found then you account can be hacked any time
The website asks you to login with your twitter username and password. The cyber criminals captures your account details and thus the countdown for the account of getting hacked begins.

Never type your password, if the website address is different from what you have typed in the address bar.
Do not give your passwords,even if some company or any representative asks for it.Because,no legitimate company will ask you any details by email,phone or by a letter.
If you are suspicious about some website but the website looks genuine. Then, type wrong email address and password to check the website,
If the website is fake, then you will get “successfully logged in” or similar message.But if the website is Genuine,then you will get wrong username,password or a similar error message.
