Canonical has released the new latest Ubuntu OS named Raring Ringtail early today which comes with some new features and much cleaner interface. Mark Shuttleworth  also announced the next version of Ubuntu 13.10 to be launched in October. Dubbed Saucy Salamande, 13.10 will bring new SDK and will continue to provide cleaner interface.

He explained the reason for naming the next Ubuntu ,Saucy Salamander,

The salamander is one of nature’s most magical creatures; they are a strong indicator of a pristine environment, which is a fitting way to describe the new world emerging around Ubuntu Touch – new applications, a new SDK, a gorgeous clean interface

About being Saucy,

life’s to short to be stodgy or stilted. Our work is our play – we make amazing things for a huge audience, we find space for pretty much every flavour of interface and do it with style.

Ubuntu is changing the old machine working culture of Linux . Their approach looks similar to Apple in the early days of  Steve Jobs. We should see some real developer cum user centric applications in the coming months from Ubuntu.
