Microsoft releases fix for Internet Explorer zero day vulnerability used to attack Dept of Labor website


Microsoft has released a fix for the zero day vulnerability in Internet Explorer 8 used by hackers to attack the Dept of Labor website. Many think that the website was attacked to compromise the workers’ data of Dept of Energy.

The  website of the Dept of Labor has been taken off air after the attack. The vulnerability allowed the remote code execution to the attackers making easy for hackers to run the code within Internet Explorer.

Named as CVE-2013-1347, the fix patches the vulnerability reported in Internet Explorer 8 .The fix can be downloaded from the FIX IT center. The update should keep the users safe from such attacks in the future. And do keep an updated antivirus to keep the security of the computer under check.
